About Sharon Walz
Sharon Walz first began her involvement with OW as a part-time Self-Employment Support Worker in early 1999, while at the same time, pursuing her entrepreneurial endeavour, Solace in Style, creating one-of-a-kind upholstered furniture pieces. She moved to doing full-time self-employment coaching with OW, and upon her departure as a Staff member from OW in June 2001, became a member of OW's Board of Directors.
Sharon passed away in October 2002, and requested that any contributions to be made in her memory to go to support the ongoing work of Opportunity Works. The Sharon Walz Memorial Fund has been set up to recognize Sharon's contributions to, and to protect her legacy at Opportunity Works.
